Can I use it without making an account?
Yes. Open it, paste a talk, hit start. Talks up to ten minutes run with no account at all, using one overall time budget. An email starts your 14-day Pro trial, which adds section-by-section timing, priority stars, the pre-start countdown and talk names.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Load it once and it keeps working with no signal: church basements, hotel function rooms, anywhere the wifi is theoretical. Add it to your home screen and it opens full screen like an app.
Can you read my sermon or my slides?
No — and not by policy, by design. Your manuscript is stored on your own device and never sent to us, so there is nothing on our side to read. What we do hold is short enough to list in full: your email, your plan, your trial dates, and how long your talks ran. Never a word of what you wrote.
What happens when my trial ends?
Nothing disappears. For pastors: we know how important Sundays are, so if your trial ends, you are never cut off on a Sunday. The first Sunday after it stays open. Every script you wrote stays on your device. Once the trial is over, a signed‑in account needs Pro to start a new talk, and without an account you can still run talks up to ten minutes. The moment you subscribe, everything comes straight back.
Can my church pay for it?
Yes. If your church buys 3 or more annual subscriptions at once, each is $60 a year instead of $72. List the email for each person and pay once. We sign everyone up, email each person how to start, and send a one-time sign-in code the first time they log in. You receive the renewal in a year. Set up the church bundle.
Can I import the document I already wrote?
Yes. Upload a .docx and Word’s own Heading 1 and Heading 2 styles become your sections automatically, with bold and italic carried across. Or paste plain text and start each section with #.
What if I don’t know how long each section should be?
Leave them blank. Talktempus estimates from word count at ordinary speaking pace, then you adjust the ones that feel wrong. You can also give the whole talk one number and skip sections entirely.
Will the screen go dark while I’m speaking?
No. The app holds the screen awake for the whole talk, because a phone that sleeps mid‑sentence is worse than no timer at all. It releases it as soon as you finish.
Can I stop myself tapping something by accident?
Yes. Lock the controls with a deliberate hold and they stop responding to stray taps, but you can still scroll and swipe through your script. Ending the talk takes a hold too, never a single tap.
Do I get anything after the talk?
Yes. Every talk ends with a session report: planned time against actual time, how many sections ran ahead or behind, which ones ran over, and a pace score for the run. Share it in a tap, and leave the exact times out if you’d rather not publish how long you really went.
Can I cancel whenever I want?
Yes. Email support@talktempusapp.com and we'll cancel it right away. You keep everything until the end of the period you already paid for, and your scripts stay yours either way.
